DocCueMent — Privacy Policy

Last updated 5 August 2026 · Artifact Video, LLC

The short version. DocCueMent runs entirely on your Mac. We operate no servers, and we receive no data about you or your scripts. Your script is fetched directly from Google to your computer and stays there, apart from the current line sent to your own phone over your own network.

Who we are

DocCueMent is a macOS application published by Artifact Video, LLC. Questions about this policy: privacy@artifact.video.

What we collect

Nothing. DocCueMent has no backend. There is no account with us, no telemetry, no analytics, and no crash reporting. We cannot see your scripts, your documents, your Google account, or how you use the app.

Google account access

When you choose Open from Google Drive…, you sign in with Google and pick a document. DocCueMent requests exactly one permission:

Document content is requested from Google's API directly by the app on your Mac. It is not routed through, copied to, or stored on any server we control.

The app also reads your account's name and email address (via Google Drive's about endpoint) for the sole purpose of displaying which account is signed in. It is stored locally and sent nowhere.

Where credentials are kept

The sign-in token that lets the app re-read your document is encrypted using macOS Keychain (Electron's safeStorage) and stored in the app's local data folder. It never leaves your computer except when talking to Google. If the keychain is unavailable, the app refuses to store the token rather than writing it unencrypted.

What is stored on your Mac

All of it lives in ~/Library/Application Support/DocCueMent. Deleting that folder removes it permanently.

Your local network

To drive the prompter from your phone, DocCueMent runs a small web server on your local network only. The phone remote receives the scroll state and the text of the line currently on the prompter, so you can see what is being read. This traffic stays on your network and never reaches the internet.

The remote must present a token carried by the QR code before it can control anything or receive script text, so another device on the same Wi-Fi cannot connect by simply opening the address.

Sharing

We do not share, sell, rent, or transfer your information, because we do not have it. There are no third-party services embedded in the app — no analytics SDK, no advertising, no trackers. The only network destinations are Google's APIs and devices on your own local network.

Limited Use

DocCueMent's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically: Google user data is used only to provide the teleprompter features you request, is never used for advertising, is never sold, and is never transferred to others except as required by law.

Revoking access

Children

DocCueMent is a professional video production tool and is not directed to children under 13.

If this policy changes materially, the date at the top will change and the current version will always be available at this address.
